AIFMD Reporting Transition to FIDAC: Key Changes and What Swedish Fund Managers Need to Know

Last Updated on January 26, 2025 by Arnaud Collignon

Starting from the reference date of September 30, 2024 (Q3), all alternative investment fund reporting for fund managers (AIFM) and their underlying funds (AIF) will need to be submitted through the FIDAC reporting system.

What’s New?

  1. XML File Submission
Fund managers are required to prepare and upload their reports in XML format, adhering to the XML schema provided on the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) website. The submission process will mirror that of periodic reporting, ensuring consistency for users who are already familiar with the system.
  2. Testing Period
To help smooth the transition, test reporting will be available starting in June 2024. Fund managers can access the “FIDAC Test Reporting” section within the Reporting Portal. However, please note that during the summer period, there will be limited support for any questions related to validation results.
  3. Access to Reporting Portal
Those who are already authorized to submit periodic reports will automatically be granted access to the new FIDAC Test Reporting portal. This ensures that users familiar with the system can seamlessly transition without needing to reapply for access.
