MMFR reporting to the CSSFchecked before it is filed
Prepare the reports of your money market funds, see every error on its field as you type, and produce the XML file the CSSF expects, for a quarter, several quarters or the year. Your data stays encrypted, on your side.
| Part | Content | Checks |
|---|---|---|
| A.1–A.3 | Identity of the MMF and its manager | No errors |
| A.4 | Portfolio, liquidity and yield | No errors |
| A.5 | Stress tests | 1 warning (CME-074) |
| A.6 | Assets, 214 holdings | No errors |
| A.7 | Liabilities and investors | No errors |
What the module does for you
Regulation (EU) 2017/1131 requires the manager of each money market fund to report to its competent authority (Article 37), using the template of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/708. The module follows the CSSF schema of that report element by element.
Checks as you type
The CSSF schema and about 110 of the CSSF and ESMA validation rules run on every field: formats, codes, sums of 100 %, dates of the period, ISIN and LEI check digits, stress test scenarios. Each error appears on its field, with its CSSF code (CME-…), in plain language.
Every kind of report
Quarterly reports, several quarters of a year in one report, the yearly report for MMFs up to EUR 100 million, reports without data for MMFs not launched (NOTX), the last report after a merger or a liquidation, and cancellations.
Excel template and XML import
Fill in the Fund XP Excel template (one column per report, one sheet per list: share classes, assets, stress tests…) and import it, or import the MMFREP files you already filed to start from your last report.
Files exactly as the CSSF expects
Envelope and header, naming convention, one report per ZIP, sequence numbers for corrections: every file is checked against the CSSF schemas before it is downloaded or sent.
Filing and CSSF answers
Send the file to Fund XP in one click: it is deposited with the CSSF, and the CSSF and ESMA feedback files come back to the report, with their status and error codes.
Official help on every field
Each field shows its ESMA field code and ITS code, and a click opens the official texts: ITS description, definition and ESMA guidelines.
Built for long portfolios
Assets, share classes, countries and monthly figures are laid out as tables, one line per item, with an index of each part of the report and a view of the problems only.
Your data stays encrypted
Each project is a file encrypted with your organisation's key and kept on your computer. The server only knows the names of the files and their status, never the content of your reports.
Why a dedicated module
An MMF report holds several hundred fields and as many validation rules. Finding a rejected field after filing costs a reporting cycle: the module shows every problem before the file leaves.
Your team works in the browser, from the Excel files it already uses, with the rights of each user (prepare, review, file) and an audit trail of every action.
In practice
- Nothing to install: a recent web browser
- The identity of each MMF entered once, reused every period
- Excel template or import of the files already filed
- Reviewer right to file with the CSSF
- CSSF deadline and status of every report in one overview
From your data to a filed report

-
Fix what's flagged
Each error is shown on its field with its CSSF code and the expected value.
-
Generate the file
The MMFREP file is built, checked against the CSSF schemas and zipped as the CSSF asks.
-
File and follow
Send it through Fund XP, then follow the CSSF answers on the report.
Frequently asked questions
Who must report under MMFR?
The manager of each money market fund authorised under Regulation (EU) 2017/1131 reports to its competent authority, every quarter. The manager of an MMF whose assets under management do not exceed EUR 100 million reports once a year.
What file does the module produce?
An XML file in the CSSF format of the MMF report (auth.093.001.01), in its envelope and header, zipped alone and named MMFREP-…-sequence, as described in the CSSF MMFR handbook.
When must the report be filed?
By the 25th calendar day of the month following the end of the reporting period (for example 25 January for the fourth quarter), according to the CSSF MMFR user guide. The module shows the deadline of each report.
How do I correct or cancel a report?
File the report again: the module gives the new file the next sequence number, as the CSSF requires. A cancellation is produced the same way, for the period and the MMF concerned.
Can I start from the reports I already filed?
Yes. Import your MMFREP files (XML or ZIP): the MMF, its identity and the report are created in your project, and the next file of the period takes the following sequence number.
Where is my data kept?
In an encrypted project file on your computer. The checks run in your browser; the server keeps only the names, statuses and error codes of the files sent through Fund XP.
